Empowering through Education and Training

Around the world those living in poverty, especially girls, are vulnerable to exploitation and severely limited life options. Nobel Laureate Economist, Amartya Sen, said, “Nothing really is as important in the world as getting children to school, especially female children.” We agree. Moreover, we recognize the conditions that ensure a child can stay in school are layered. Our model for change is therefore a multidimensional response to the suffering we can see. Projects in education, training and care combine human resource development and the provision of basic needs to ensure a sustainable vision of empowerment.

Our education and training projects combine access to education with local advocacy, university level scholarships and assistance, personal and professional development, mentoring, and skills training. The young women we support finish locally unprecedented levels of education and support sustainable shifts in their communities.
